I've just been a casual observer of the Palestinian elections, but I have to say, the things that have stuck out from the few news reports I've browsed have been the spectacle-scandal of US funding to try to inflewence the election, and our President's belicose bungling of public relations both in the Middle East in general, and in recent weeks, in the way he tried to meddle in the election and posture for US consumption.
